In 2026, Food Tank produced a short documentary highlighting the voices of small, regenerative farmers in Ireland. I designed a movie poster for use in film festivals, social media, and other marketing. The film highlights this small group of farmers' deep love for the land and how this can carry us into the future of improving our food system.
Scope: 1 month

Software used: Adobe Illustrator

Team of stakeholders:
Bernard Pollack (Co-Founder of Food Tank)
Danielle Nierenberg (President of Food Tank)
Haven Worley (Film Director)
Ineke Lavers (Film Producer)

My role: Designer/Art Director
Inspiration
When Haven reached out to me about designing the poster, she wanted to use this film still (far right) of one of the main farmers featured in the film. She also sent a variety of poster inspiration but after some discussion, narrowed down to the two images on the left.
I started by editing the film still (right), not only to create a larger canvas to work with, but also to brighten the color palette, and bring in some warmth to illustrate the hopeful tone of the film.
After working with Haven, I narrowed to two different design options (below). I chose a simple, serif/sans serif font pairing to echo a romance movie and emphasize the "love story" aspect of the film, but not in a "cheesy" way.
I envisioned these designs being used interchangeably, but ultimately Bernard and Danielle decided the design on the left was the best fit for. I have since adapted this poster for social media and various event graphics.
Final poster design.
Alternative poster design.
The film premiered at SXSW in March 2026 and Dublin in June of 2026 and has been submitted into the Academy Award-qualifying Galway Film Fleadh (Film Festival).
